England is set to host Pakistan in a significant cricketing event next year when the Green Shirts tour the country for a five-match one-day international (ODI) series starting May 15, 2027. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this on Thursday, providing detailed dates and locations for each match of the series.
The opening match will take place in Southampton on May 15, followed by a match in Manchester on May 19. The third ODI is scheduled to be played in Leeds on May 21, with the fourth and final ODIs set for Chester-le-Street and Cardiff on May 23 and May 26 respectively.
Following this series, Pakistan will travel to England for a three-match Test series from August 19 to September 13. This upcoming ODI series is expected to provide both teams with valuable preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in October and November.
The last time Pakistan toured England for an ODI series was in 2021. During that three-match series, Babar Azam emerged as the leading scorer with 177 runs across the matches, including a notable innings of 158 in the third match. The current rankings show Pakistan at fifth position in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, while England is closely following at seventh.
This tour will not only be an opportunity for both teams to showcase their skills but also to prepare for one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments in the world.
